Enhance the college experience of students by offering guidance, access to tools and resources that will support their growth and development and more importantly be a friend that students can rely on, when required.
Networking & Career Services Executive Committee
Empower current and future alumni with the skills and connections needed to be successful in their professional lives.
Marketing & Public Relations Executive Committee
Be the face and voice of the organization to the outside world, increase the awareness of the chapter, facilitate interactions between the chapter, the institution and external organizations and spearhead the branding initiatives.
IT Operations Executive Committee
Use technology as an enabler to help alumni stay in touch with their friends, faculty and students and maintain a plethora of collective knowledge of the organization.
Strategy & Policy Making Executive Committee
Frame the constitution and the by-laws of the chapter, assist in the formation of the next board and explore avenues to make the organization self-sustaining.
Philanthropy Executive Committee
Provide an effective platform for alumni to give back to the institution and enable them to grow into a socially responsible community.
Research & Development Executive Committee
Build a strong research relationship between the SSN alumni research community and SSN Institutions through student-alumni interactions and research collaborations.
SSN Alumni Association was formed to channelize the energy of SSN alumni towards the common goal of giving back to the institution that nurtured us. It will also enable us to stay connected with a powerful network with endless benefits. To further this mission, we have aligned the chapter with 7 executive committees:
The Student Affairs committee, led by Archana Ganesan and Vivekanandan Elangovan was set up to enrich the college life of SSN students, offering them the tools necessary to be successful. The team’s road map include helping students applying to US universities, eMentor program, guest lectures, and plans to design a student leadership program.
The Networking and Career Services committee is led by Sriveena Pandurangan and Meshak Vaithilingam. The core function of this team will be to increase networking amongst current and future alumni, and helping alumni be agile in their professional lives. The networking team will also organize alumni meets in the US and build the database of alumni residing in the US. The team, in partnership with IT Operations also has plans to include job search options within the alumni portal.
The Marketing and Public Relations committee, led by Arun Jayaseelan and Venkatesh Varadharajan is chartered with increasing publicity about SSN and its alumni, thereby establishing the SSN Brand in the United States.The marketing team will also spearhead initiatives to increase alumni registration through the alumni portal and promoting online awareness, and will be the face of the US chapter to the outside world.
The IT Operations committee, led by Manav Chauhan and Priya Srinivasan will create and maintain the portal for the entire association. They will work very closely with the other executive committees to gather requirements and implement new features, including content management in the portal. The editorial team will report to the IT Ops Executive committee and is chartered to deliver a newsletter each quarter.
The Strategy and Policy Making committee, led by Subramanian Rama and Sugesh Kumar Rajendran at the helm is responsible for formulating the laws and constitution of the charter. They will also be involved in efforts to make the alumni association a self sustaining legal entity.
The Philanthropy committee, led by Mahaneeya Raman and Lakshmi Chidambaram plans many fundraisers to benefit the society in large as well as channel donations to programs sponsored by the US
alumni charter. The Research and Development committee lead by Mayur Mudigonda and Aniruddha Udipi will provide guidelines to student R&D projects by publishing a research handbook. The team also has plans for an ongoing R&D Internship program.
